Focus on Cities International Conference 28–29 May 2026

The Students’ Smart City Association, Science Club of Spatial Planning at the Warsaw University of Technology, and The Students’ Association of Transport and Mobility at the Warsaw School of Economics invite you to an international academic conference to be held on 28–29 May 2026 at the Main Building of the Warsaw School of Economics.

The aim of the conference is to create a safe and open space for discussion on innovative and positive solutions for European cities. The event will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences, present research findings, broaden knowledge in the field of urban planning and related sciences, and create a forum for discussion and the opportunity to make valuable contacts. The event will be conducted in English and attendance is free of charge.

Four thematic panels are planned:

  • From Planning to Practice: Ensuring Urban Accessibility: a panel on research and solutions aimed at improving accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Empowering Communities: Technology as a Catalyst for Change: a panel on research and technological solutions improving the functioning and quality of life of city residents.
  • Nature as a Solution: Building Resilience and Biodiversity: a panel on research and solutions related to environmental protection, climate adaptation, biodiversity, Nature-based Solutions, green logistics and the circular economy.
  • Fostering Unity: Sustainable Development Strategies: a panel discussion on research and solutions relating to the implementation of urban and supra-regional strategies aimed at improving
  • the functioning and management of cities, including in sustainable mobility, spatial planning and urban development.
